The Paraguayan Communications company (COPACO) will launch IPTV during the second quarter of this year if the hiring regime to which they are subjected because they are a state owned company, is fulfilled as expected. SES NEW SKIES announced that it will host IPTV Americas on its NSS-806 satellite. This will enable IPTV Americas to offer an end-to-end satellite-delivered IPTV distribution solution to all telecommunications and cable operators’ head ends in Latin America and the Caribbean. The IPTV Americas’ content will be distributed to the entire Americas via NSS-806, one of the most widely used video satellites in the region. The services will uplink from the SES NEW SKIES’ Washington Mediaport located in the Washington D.C. area. Telefonica Argentina has started to test a video-on-demand (VOD) system with 100 clients in Buenos Aires, reports TV Telco Latam. BT Vision has announced its plans for a massive IPTV launch, set to hit the UK in 2010. Codenamed Project Canvas, the service will bring together major UK broadcasters in one location to provide on-demand content. And what’s more, it’s going to be free. |
