Macrovision is offering CE manufacturers the capability to build devices that can find and play broadcast and premium content, such as television shows, Internet-delivered media and music as well as access and manage content from consumers’ personal media libraries. LG Electronics is adding the ability to stream Netflix content to select HDTVs. They can also support Yahoo! TV Widgets and YouTube.

Based on Intel’s CE 3100 Media Processor, Samsung is incorporating Yahoo! Internet@TV widgets into select HDTVs, offering the ability to access USA Today, YouTube, eBay, Showtime, Flickr, Yahoo! News, etc. with video streaming and “other popular Internet services” coming in the future. In addition to U.S., use in many other countries are supported including Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
